Man who blamed ‘gypsies’ for wrecking hotel found guilty Irishman and four tourists held in ‘credit cards fraud’

POLICE have arrested two Britons and an Irishman suspected of running up a four-figure hotel bill using cloned credit cards.
The trio were held with two Germans at the fourstar ME Mallorca in Magaluf.
Their arrests came 24 hours after they were held at a five-star hotel on the Spanish island and released on bail.
They were remanded in custody after a court appearance on Tuesday.
It was alleged the accused had spent more than £9,000 at the five-star Hilton Sa Torre before checking into ME Mallorca and being arrested again on Sunday.
Civil Guard investigators are said to have seized a card cloning machine.
One of the five men held is believed to be a minor.
Earlier this month four Britons and an Irishman were held on suspicion of using falsified credit cards to pay for stays in luxury hotels in Catalan seaside resorts including Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava.
Detectives said the suspects were alleged to have defrauded hotels of around €1,700 each.
They were arrested allegedly using stolen cars close to Girona.
Officers said one of the vehicles they were using had been reported stolen.
Four men and a woman aged 27 to 29 were held. GARDAI discovered drugs with a street value of £2.7million after stopping and searching a van yesterday.
The vehicle was found to have 30kg of MDMA and 20kg of ketamine on board after an intelligence-led operation in Kilbarrack, North Dublin.
All packages were seized by Customs with a further 1kg of herbal cannabis worth £20,000 found at a house nearby. A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene as part of the investigation. Gardai said investigations into the seizure are “ongoing”. This is one of the biggest raids in Dublin since a £2.4million cannabis find in January.
