‘Vultures’ target air passengers for share of payouts for delays

CLAIMS firms are swooping on air travellers to get a share of compensati­on for flight delays.

As PPI payouts dry up ahead of next year’s deadline, claims firms chasing alternativ­e revenues loiter at airports watching for delays.

Airlines must pay up to £530 if flights are more than three hours late and the firms offer to handle claims for a cut of up to 40%.

Martyn James, of the free Resolver complaints service, said: “Claims vultures are desperatel­y circling, looking for another quick way they can snatch your compensati­on for doing nothing.” He MATTHEW Marsh may be the baby of his giant family at 16... but he’s already the tallest.

And at 6ft 11in he is set for stardom as the first young Brit signed by FC Barcelona Basketball.

His family in Truro, Cornwall, are truly high achievers. His dad Tim is 6ft 7in and his brothers are 6ft 10in and 6ft 9in.

Tim says: “He didn’t play basketball until three years ago. His rise has been very rapid.” was approached at Malaga airport and said: “They told me I was entitled to compensati­on but that it was complicate­d and the chances of succeeding by myself were low.

“Don’t listen to them. They don’t make the process any easier.”

Payment protection insurance was widely mis-sold by providers to cover repayment of credit.
