Hermit priest says fantasy novels and Reiki massage are work of ‘Old Nick’
A CATHOLIC priest has warned of the “dangers” of Harry Potter and video games, which he says expose children to the “dark side”.
Fr David Jones has also urged users of Reiki massage to be careful, saying that by opening up pores and shakras to positive energy, the negative spirits can also get in.
The Welshman, who has lived in Duleek, Co Meath, for more than 10 years believes video games and Harry Potter are part of a bigger agenda “to normalise the dark side”.
He said: “Evil that can come out of a screen is deliberate and pumped at people who are defenceless, such as children.
“Video games and screens are damaging children and hugely exposing them to evil. It’s murky and affects every layer of society.
“Old Nick is not short of measures of getting in there.
“Little children watching Harry Potter are learning real spells and being told vampires, the ugly, are the good. It’s a topsy turvy system to get them ready for something worse.”
Fr David, a hermit priest who has lived in monasteries in Italy and France and speaks eight languages, also claims drug consignments from Latin America are presided over by Satanic rites to ensure maximum destruction.
He explained: “Big shipments are coming out with maximum demonic attachment because they [drug lords] invite someone involved in Satanism to come out and perform a rite of cursing over each shipload to cause maximum harm and therefore they are most lucrative to them. “Practices such as Reiki also open doors to the dark side because they open the shakras and pores to other energies too.
“Human sacrifices happen each Halloween and people are conceived in Satanic rites for Satan – every time this happens, there’s an increase in Satanic power on earth.
“These demons want our souls and they’re getting them.”
Although Fr David has been present at exorcisms he is not trained to perform them, though insists each diocese has a cleric that is.
He said: “Major exorcisms can’t be performed without the bishop’s permission because it’s dangerous and noisy.
“I have been there. It can frighten you, but you mustn’t get frightened because you’re in control – a demon is a creature so it has to obey Christ in the priest.
“Nothing else will get rid of demons other than the power of the priest.” Although warning about the presence of “Old Nick”, Fr David claims Ireland has more faith than most countries, and many young people still believe.
He explained: “You can’t get away from the faith in Ireland.
“If a person is in trouble – they pray. However, Ireland is a no man’s land at the minute – neither what it once was or what it will be.”
Harry Potter author JK Rowling previously dismissed similar claims to Fr Jones’ as “absurd”.
In 1999 she said: “I have met thousands of children and not one has come up to me and said, ‘Ms Rowling, I’m so glad I’ve read these books because now I want to be a witch’.”
