Half want second Brexit vote if we can’t get deal

- BY BEN GLAZE Deputy Political Editor

HALF of voters want a second Brexit referendum if talks with Brussels break down, a poll shows today.

The Yougov survey for the antibrexit People’s Vote campaign found 50% believe the public should take the final decision on leaving, with 25% wanting to give Parliament the ultimate say.

And Remainers would win a fresh vote by 53% to 47% when “don’t knows” are stripped out, according to of 10,000 voters.

Theresa May has repeatedly insisted there will be no second referendum. But Labour MP Chuka Umunna, of People’s Vote, said: “This poll shows growing and the online poll A CAR is swept away amid flash flooding in the South of France yesterday, with up to four inches of rain falling in less than three hours in some areas.

Around 750 people had to be evacuated from campsites, as the heatwave gave way to thunderstorms.

At least one person was missing and four children were taken to hospital with strong support for a people’s vote on the final Brexit deal.”

However any second referendum would fuel claims that a pro-eu elite is failing to respect the result of the original 2016 poll. hypothermia as torrential rain pounded the country. A German man, 70, was swept away in his caravan in Saint-juliende-peyrolas, around 90 miles north-west of Marseilles. His vehicle was later found “empty and in pieces”, police said.

Local reports said 19,000 homes had lost power after 160,000 lightning strikes hit the country by midday yesterday.
