Coroner: Margot OD’D on drink & drugs
CRIME victims rapped police over their fast response to a plea by Timmy Mallett.
The TV Wacaday star, 62, tweeted about theft of his ebike in Cookham, Berks, and officers replied: “We are on the case.”
They were blasted online for favouring celebrities by victims of vandalism and theft who felt they had been ignored.
One tweeted: “Unless you’re a celebrity you feel like the bottom of the pile when you need them.” MARGOT Kidder who played Lois Lane in four Superman movies took her own life, a coroner has concluded.
Park County coroner Richard Wood said the 69-year-old actress died “as a result of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose”.
Margot’s daughter Maggie Mcguane said: “It’s a big relief the truth is out there.
“It’s important to be open so there’s not a cloud of shame in dealing with this.”
Maggie said she knew her mum had killed herself from the moment officials took her to the star’s home where she had been found dead by a friend in May.
Pals said Margot, who suffered from mental illness, spent the final months of her life at the property in Livingston in the US state of Montana surrounded by meth addicts who she was trying to “fix”. The Canada-born star’s manager Camilla Fluxman Pines previously said Margot died peacefully in her sleep.
Margot, who was bipolar, had spoken about her struggles with mental health.
She said: “I knew I was different, had these mind flights that other people didn’t seem to have. And I had deep depressions.”
Margot suffered a breakdown in 1996 when she went missing and was found living in a cardboard box in Los Angeles.
She became one of Hollywood’s most prominent mental health campaigners.
