Healy hails his Blues as they cruise

- BY ALEX MILLS

LINFIELD boss David Healy last night saluted his team after their win over Institute at Windsor Park, but believes there is still more to come.

The Blues recorded their second Danske Bank Premiership win in a week, courtesy of goals from Andy Waterworth, Chris Casement and new boy Joel Cooper.

Paddy Mclaughlin’s Institute arrived at the international venue determined to make life difficult for the Blues and they succeeded – until Waterworth opened his goal account for the new season on 31 minutes.

“We had to be patient because we knew Institute would come to try and frustrate us,” said former Northern Ireland striker Healy.

“In games like that, it’s important to take the chances when they come. So, the lads deserved a lot of credit as their patience paid off. They were three slick finishes.

“Two wins in our opening two games, so we have to be happy.”

After dominating right from the whistle, the home fans were on their feet on 31 minutes to acclaim Waterworth’s breakthrough goal. The big striker rammed home an unstoppable drive following an excellent move involving Kirk Millar and Casement.

It was game, set and match right on the hour. The impressive Daniel Kearns’ clever back-heel sent Cooper free on the left and his low cross was poked home by the inrushing Casement.

The Blues struck again on 66 minutes. Quinn’s delicious in-swinging free kick found the head of Cooper and his flick flashed past Marty Gallagher.
