RAMSEY CAN QUIT FOR FREE

-

and commit himself to a new deal with the club confident of reaching agreement over the past few weeks.

But there has been a sudden change and talks have broken down to the point that there is nothing for Ramsey to sign.

It is an incredible situation as the Wales star is at the peak of his career, scoring the winner in two of Arsenal’s last three FA Cup Final wins.

The Gunners are understood to have turned down a £50million bid in the summer with Juventus having since joined the chase with Chelsea, Manchester United and Lazio.

Ramsey has sacrificed himself this season to play in different positions to help new boss Unai Emery’s tactics work and his stats remain impressive.

Emery (above) admitted in August that Ramsey had been in for talks over his role, but it is not known if the Spaniard even wants to him to stay.

Arsenal’s wage bill has been escalating out of control with Mesut Ozil now on £350,000 a week, but Ramsey was keen to stay and the breakdown is not because he has turned down a new deal.

It will be a massive blow for Arsenal to lose one of Europe’s top goal-scoring midfielders on a free transfer and once again their dealings over contracts will come under the spotlight.

They allowed both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to go into the final year of their deals and now face an even more embarrassing own goal over Ramsey.

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he has turned down offers to coach in China, Japan and France because he is enjoying his new-found freedom after leaving the club in summer.
