Eat is on for celeb cooks...
We grill Masterchef finalists
Anything that is cooked with love is impressive. I try to cook with my heart.
Not at all – I’m very easily pleased. I’m a simple boy with simple needs.
I just came back from Lake Como and went to a little restaurant up in the mountains, where a young man cooked sausage in the back of his van. It was the best sausage I’ve ever had.
My pineapple disgrace on the show – I will never live that down.
The menu I cook in the final is very personal to me. You could say it’s my heritage. It’s really close to my heart, so I want to do it proud.
John taught me how to peel ginger with the back of a spoon, so you could say I’m team Torode. But I still love you, Gregg. My favourite TV chef is Marcus Wareing, he’s great. Anything with gravy.
To snatch the Masterchef trophy.
Less is more – simple ingredients, cooked well.
The Celebrity Masterchef final is an all-male affair, following the departure last night of the last woman standing, Paralympian Stef Reid.
The heated culinary battle between rugby ace Martin Bayfield, actor John Partridge and reality TV star Spencer Matthews will come to a head on BBC1 at 8.30pm tonight.
Here, we chat to the finalists and learn how Martin once enjoyed a meal so much that he ordered all three courses again, and how John’s favourite food was a sausage from a man in the back of a van in Italy.
Spencer reckons they have their work cut out. “All three of us really want it,” he sighs.
May the best man win...
