The un-suit-ables

-

WHEELIE suitcases, blacked-out cars, snappy suits and dresses and several over-inflated egos.

Yes, this business heavyweight is back on the box, which means several weeks of shouting at the telly as budding entrepreneurs battle for the approval of Lord Alan Sugar. Something that is extremely hard to come by.

“I want workers not shirkers!” he yells as the 16 hopefuls troop into the boardroom, full of that hope and optimism that is usually replaced by fear and panic within 10 minutes.

As ever, Baroness Karren Brady and Claude Littner resume duties as Lord Sugar’s trusted advisors, his ‘eyes and ears’ on the ground as the contestants beg, backstab and battle through the tasks.

The contestants come from a broad range of backgrounds including law, fashion, sport and even tree surgery, but all want that £250,000 investment and partnership with Lord

Sugar.

None are lacking in confidence. One says it’s actually “oozing from his skin,” which is rather worrying. Another claims to be a “mumpreneur”, whose goal is to buy her daughter a swimming pool.

There’s a self-proclaimed “Beyonce of business” and a woman whose goal is nothing less than “worldwide domination”. Of course their claims are all even more laughable once we see them in action.

This series starts with one of the funniest tasks. The candidates are packed off to Malta with a list of nine things to source and buy at the lowest possible prices. A hilarious start to the series – watch out for ferry trouble and a rogue octopus.
