Life is Strange 2: Episode 1

- BY JASPER PICKERING

£6.49-£6.79, Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC

Life Is Strange 2 follows two brothers, Sean and

Daniel Diaz, who are of Mexican origin and live in the state of Washington. After a racially-motivated encounter with a police officer goes wrong the brothers find themselves on the run and heading south for a different life.

You control Sean throughout the first episode, walking through each self-contained area and interacting with it in different ways. Rather than put a focus on arbitrary puzzle solving with convoluted solutions, dialogue and human interaction are what makes this game tick.

You’ll help Sean and Daniel navigate the Washington countryside by asking strangers for help.

Politics plays a much more integral role in this sequel which is set in the run-up to the 2016 US presidential election. Using in-game texts, Sean’s replies to his brother’s concerns can be seen getting ever-more frantic as the ballot approaches.
