ARE WE GOOD ENOUGH? NO!

Ream says staying up will be a huge problem for The Whites

TIM REAM has accused his Fulham team-mates of lacking the stomach for a fight.

The straight-talking USA defender pulled no punches as he assessed the Cottagers’ plight and believes “there are not enough guys who want it” in Slavisa Jokanovic’s squad.

His shock admission may go some way to explaining why thirdbottom Fulham have struggled so badly since promotion, a start to the season that has left Jokanovic fighting for his job.

Ream said: “Among ourselves and those on the outside are questioning do we really have the fight?

“Do we have the grit, do we have the determination? And at this moment in time I would say no.

“There are not enough guys who want it. Who want to fight for each other, for themselves, for the club.” Fulham spent more than £100million in the summer after coming up via the playoffs, but have had a desperately poor return for their money so far.

They have lost six of their nine league games this season with the worst defensive record in the Premier League, having already shipped 25 goals.

Their latest setback was Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at fellow strugglers Cardiff, which again highlighted their defensive woes.

And Fulham’s only league win came against an out-of-form Burnley side back in August.

The next two league games, against Bournemouth and Huddersfield, are pivotal for Jokanovic (below) and his hopes of staying in charge.

Ream insists the Fulham boss is not letting uncertainty over his future affect him.

He added: “He has not changed his demeanour, which is good. That trickles into the team and gives everyone a bit of calmness.

“It is never nice when there are rumblings of managers getting sacked or wanting to leave or this that and the other.

“He is the same as always. Always focused. Not ever satisfied with any one result, never too depressed by any one result either.”
