Moses could join exodus at the Bridge

- Chelsea BATE Borisov

VICTOR MOSES is the latest Chelsea star to consider his future at Stamford Bridge after being left in the margins of Maurizio Sarri’s revolution.

The Nigerian World Cup star was an integral part of Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation when the Blues won the title in 2017.

But Sarri’s switch to a flat back four, dispensing with wing-backs, has limited Moses to 26 minutes from the bench in the Premier League this season.

And although he is likely to get a run-out in the Europa League against BATE Borisov of Belarus tomorrow night, Moses (above) could be heading for the exit in January.

After making 78 appearances over the last two seasons, scoring eight goals, Moses has found himself odd man out while fellow wing-back Marcos Alonso was accommodated in the back four.

Moses quit international football, at the age of 27, in August, saying: “Now is the right time to step away in order to be able to focus fully on my club career and my young family.”

But since Sarri’s formation change he has joined defenders Andreas Christensen, Gary Cahill and Ruben Loftus-cheek among Chelsea’s ranks of frustrated stars.

Last week, Christensen spoke out about his lack of game time and warned his patience was wearing thin.

He said: “Right now, it’s not a good season for me but I have to find a way to get back on the team.

“We have had good results and we play super football, which only makes it harder. I cannot show so much patience again – I am 22 and I really want to play.

“It’s clear this is not a good situation for me.”

Sarri will decide in the next 24 hours whether to rest top scorer Eden Hazard against Borisov after the 2-2 draw with Manchester United at the weekend.
