Drains probed and drone used in desperate search

MISSING mother-of-five Sarah Wellgreen’s disappearance was not reported to police for almost two days, it has emerged.

Sarah, 46, was last seen on the evening of October 9 and vanished overnight.

But she was not reported missing until the morning of October 11, despite it being completely out of character.

Officers hunting for her are treating the case as a potential murder inquiry.

Yesterday, police continued scouring woodland four miles from Sarah’s home in New Ash Green, Kent. They used a drone and searched drains as part of the probe, and hunted for her black iphone 4 in Dartford town centre.

Det Insp Chris Greenstreet said: “Our officers are continuing to carry out searches.

“Officers have welcomed the response to the appeal for CCTV and dashcam footage, but would urge others to please keep sending in any material they may have.”

The beautician and massage therapist had met a number of clients on the day she disappeared, but texted boyfriend Neil James, 45, to say she was home at 8.15pm. Sarah had been living with former partner Ben Lacomba, 38, and their three children.

Neil, of Farnham, Surrey, last spoke to her by phone at 9.24pm on the night she vanished. But when he texted her “morning honey” the next day, he got no reply. Last week, a man in his 30s was arrested and bailed in connection with the case.
