Peregrine to out Run Dinaria

-

THE Peter Fahey-trained Peregrine Run looks the one to side with in the M.W. Hickey Memorial Chase at Wexford this afternoon.

Only five horses go to post for the track’s biggest race of the year and it looks as though this Listed contest could boil down to a match between Peregrine Run and Gordon Elliotttrained Dinaria Des Obeaux.

The Fahey inmate won a decent chase at Killarney two months ago and has since run two good races in defeat behind Woodland Opera, the most recent of which saw him take third in a Gowran Grade 2.

Dinaria Des Obeaux enjoyed a good first season over fences last term and she actually got off the mark at this meeting last year.

She then held her own in good company throughout the winter and was probably just feeling the effects of a busy season on her last few runs.

Meanwhile, Galway plays host to an all flat card where Flowering Peach should take plenty of beating in the opener.

She began her career with a very pleasing third in a decent looking Leopardstown maiden just over a week ago.

The in form Joseph O’brien could notch up several winners over the course of the day and his Commodus is put forward in the nursery.

She was fancied for a similar event at Leopardstown on Saturday and showed up well to take third despite not enjoying the best of runs.

Tuamhain should also strike for O’brien and Best Not Argue is another of the trainer’s runners with every chance.
