Victim’s battle keeps serial rapist locked up
Brave Christine’s parole petition victory
A SERIAL rapist has been denied parole following a campaign by one of his many victims to keep him locked up.
Brave Christine Jones, from West Belfast, waived her right to anonymity in a bid to keep other women and children safe from William “Dee” Fenton.
The 60-year-old monster was being considered for early release from jail last month, following a 2013 conviction for sexually assaulting four women in Scotland.
But Christine, who was just 17 when he drugged and raped her almost 20 years ago, started a petition to keep him behind bars.
She told the Mirror: “The petition really brought a lot of survivors together to bring a collective voice to the parole board.

forward and two of them did an impact statement.” Christine said the decision to keep Fenton jailed for another two years has given her a short reprieve. The mum of two added: “I just felt relief, like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. This man is a monster. He has been raping for 40-odd years.”
The parole board was able to get all the charges from Northern Ireland, the impact statements and court reports.
Christine said: “They did a really thorough job and he has been put away for another two years.
“But his sentence is over in three years and then he will be out.
“The law on sex offenders needs to be reformed big time.”
