BOYFRIEND THIS IS A CUP FINAL FOR ME FROM HELL
Thug with 74 convictions guilty of biting off part of ex-lover’s nose & punching her
A NOTORIOUS thug was yesterday found guilty of biting off part of his girlfriend’s nose after battering her.
A court heard Stephen Mccarron had 74 previous convictions.
The 35-year-old from Derry will be sentenced next month.
A MAN has been found guilty of biting off part of his girlfriend’s nose. Stephen Charles Mccarron, 35, from Derry, was yesterday convicted of attacking the victim in her flat after he breached a restraining order.
But he was found not guilty of threatening to kill the woman. Mccarron, who had 74 previous convictions, was remanded in continuing custody until a sentence hearing next month.
He will also be sentenced for breaching a restraining order by being in his girlfriend’s Bogside flat on August 15 last year.
The jurors were told
Mccarron had already admitted that offence. The accused, from Moyola Drive, and his victim had been in a relationship for two years at the time of the attack.
It occurred after they had attended a bonfire in the Bogside following a day-long drinking binge.
Mccarron, who did not give evidence during his five-day trial, kicked and punched the 32-year-old before biting her on the nose, partially severing her right nostril.
The woman reported the assault to a domestic violence group which told her to go to Altnagelvin Hospital to have her injury treated.
Derry Crown Court heard she is still awaiting reconstructive plastic surgery.
