‘Frosty Knickers’ won’t be to find love in the jungle

commitment and she would look at them and go, ‘Why?’.

“She’s not looking for love in the jungle. She will have a huge crush on John Barrowman but will realise that won’t happen on so many levels.”

In last night’s show, Anne confirmed to Barrowman that she is single and cited her autism as the reason she has struggled to settle down.

She told him: “When I was working out I was autistic it clarified a lot of things and one of those things was, ‘That’s why I never seem to be able to make it work, that’s why I always feel claustrophobic in a relationship’.”

Mark, 53, said the Chase team gave Anne, 60, her nickname as she cannot stand heat. He said: “We call her Frosty Knickers – her default setting in a hotel is 15C. She likes being cold and she’s in a tropical rainforest in hot season.”

But he said Anne may have help from a higher power as the devout Catholic sought her priest’s permission to join the ITV show. And she even smuggled a Bible in. Mark said: “She had a chat with her priest and asked what relimention gious observances she needed to do.” Despite little success in trials, Anne has won over campmates and viewers. Mark has no doubt she will now reach the final – and has had a flutter on her.

He said: “I got a tenner on her at 25/1 and now she’s favourite. My feeling was it was going to Marmite and it would be she can’t cope and she would be one of the first out, or she will make the top three. The nice thing with Anne is there is no side to her.”

Mark, who is so close to Anne he asked her to be godmother to his son, thinks winning would not go to her head and added she “hasn’t changed at all in the 10 years I’ve known her”.

He said: “She still lives in the same house, still has the same dresses, still knows what she wants out of life.” Meanwhile, security had to remove a deadly python from the camp. And Noel Edmonds joins the show tonight.
