Court told of attack on woman in flat

- BY ASHLEIGH MCDONALD

A WOMAN was raped four times and had a cut on her face superglued, a court heard yesterday.

A jury was told she was also punched and had her head shaved during the incident at a flat in Belfast on November 23, 2016.

Daniel Milligan is on trial at the Crown Court on four separate counts of rape.

The 31-year-old denies the offences, claiming any sexual activity between him and the woman was consensual, but he has admitted four counts of assault occasioning her actual bodily harm.

Opening the Crown case, prosecutor Richard Weir said Milligan had been taking drugs for two days and became angry at the complainant. He added the defendant punched the woman on the face and took a pair of scissors to her long hair before using clippers.

Mr Weir said she “tried to fight him off, but he punched her in the right eye then held her down and shaved her head”.

The prosecutor added Milligan “appeared to calm down and got Superglue and applied it to a cut” to her face.

It is alleged he then told the woman he wanted sex and demanded she strip and got on the bed. It is the Crown case Milligan then raped her four times.

The court heard that during a search of the flat police found a blood-soaked robe and a pair of hair clippers. At hearing.
