- Rangers Aberdeen EUAN MCLEAN Motherwell Celtic

SIX years since Andy Little set Rangers off on their journey from the bottom of Scottish football, he’s delighted to see them back on top at last.

Now he reckons the mental month ahead can prove that they have the strength to stay there.

Sunday’s hard fought win over Hearts at Tynecastle propelled Gers to the top of the Premiership, albeit having played a game more than Celtic who were too busy winning the Betfred Cup.

Little, who scored the first goal of ‘The Journey’, in a Ramsden’s Cup tie at Brechin in 2012, said: “Let’s be honest, Steven Gerrard said himself that he would rather BRENDAN RODGERS has insisted he won’t allow laziness to creep into Celtic’s silverware sweep as they close in on a third consecutive domestic Treble.

The Parkhead boss (above) secured a seventh successive trophy on Sunday when his all-conquering side delivered another

“But what happened on Sunday is still a boost, especially for the fans, to take advantage of the extra game and see their name at the top of the league after all the club has been through.

“There have been so many negatives so I’m sure there will be plenty of fans taking a screenshot of the table on their phones.

“But there’s a long way to go and December is going to be a crazy month with so many games ahead that it could be a totally different picture.

“If they are still there in that same position at the end of the month then they can really be pleased.”
