A BRAD BUY..

Art lovers urged not to buy stolen prints after collection is taken by house raiders

ART lovers are being warned to steer clear of stolen pictures after five were taken in a burglary.

The limited edition Terry Bradley prints were lifted in broad daylight from a house in South Belfast on Friday.

One image – Night On The Town – is of “massive sentimental value” as it was bought by its owner’s late mother.

The homeowner, who wants to remain anonymous, said the burglars “wrecked” her home in Knockbreda Park.

She added: “There were drawers just emptied all over the place and they’ve taken every Christmas present I’d bought. There’s a ring that belonged to my mum which they took which is one of the few things I have left of her.

“But they also took five Terry Bradleys including Night On The Town which my mum bought for my 40th 13 years ago. There are only 250 of them.

“The police said they must have been at my back window with a crowbar for 20 minutes. And all in broad daylight. I reckon they must have loaded up a van with the amount of stuff they took. “It’s horrible to think of them being in your house.”

One art dealer told the Mirror: “I’d be keeping an eye out on ebay and Gumtree or they could turn up in Cash Converters.

“Terry Bradley stuff is so popular you could go to someone’s door and sell it so long as the person buying is happy not to ask many questions. “A picture like Night On The Town could be worth more.”

In 2016, 50 Bradley prints were stolen from a shop but later recovered.
