Repeat offender jailed for six years

- BY GEORGE JACKSON BY SARAH SCOTT

A PERVERT who forced his way into a woman’s home before sexually assaulting her did the same thing to another female two years later, a court heard yesterday.

Details of the attacks emerged as Frank O’hagan was jailed for six months at Derry Magistrates Court after being convicted of indecently assaulting the victims.

The court heard the first attack took place just before midnight on October 2, 2016.

O’hagan, 39, knocked on the front window of his first victim’s home and shouted at her “I am up here now for you”. He kept shouting “let me in, let me in” before pushing his way past the woman into her home where he grabbed her from behind saying he wanted to kiss and hug her. He also grabbed her by the throat. The woman’s son managed to push O’hagan out of the home. The court also heard while on probation for that offence, O’hagan assaulted another female in August of this year after also gaining entry to her flat.

The terrified woman said he hugged her twice in a sleazy manner and added she believed his intentions towards her were sexual. PLANS to increase the number of organ donors in Northern Ireland have been given a £250,000 boost.

The funding will see a programme of coordinated activities put in place to increase the number of people signing up.

It has been described as a “major step forward for the process in Northern Ireland” by Chief Medical Officer for Northern Ireland Dr Michael Mcbride.

The announcement coincided with yesterday’s annual Organ Donation Discussion Day with its key message of “Tell Your Loved Ones” about your wishes.
