Drunken thug left terrified girlfriend disfigured in third brutal assault Socialite smuggled £18k worth of python-skin caps and bags
A THUG who left his girlfriend with a “disfiguring injury” when he bit her nose was jailed yesterday.
Stephen Mccarron was sentenced to six years, three on licence, after the judge read out the victim’s harrowing account.
The 35-year-old was convicted last month of causing grievous bodily harm with intent on his then partner, causing a partial severing of her nostril and kicking and punching her in the face in her Bogside flat.
Mccarron, from Moyola Drive in the A SOCIALITE has admitted smuggling nearly £18,000 worth of illicit python-skin fashion accessories into the UK.
Swimwear model Stephanie Scolaro, 26, sold snakeskin baseball caps and bags via her website SS Python and Instagram, where she has 80,000 followers.
She sold large bags for £2,800 each and also suggested a retail value of £350 for one of the caps to another seller.
The model, of Marylebone, West London, who appeared on the Channel 4 Shantallow area of Derry, showed no emotion when the ruling was given.
The court was told the assault was the culmination of a toxic and tumultuous three-year-long relationship.
The accused, who had 74 previous criminal convictions, two of them for attacking the same woman, targeted her show Rich Kids Of Instagram, admitted smuggling a holdall, a backpack and 10 baseball caps into the UK in December 2016 after police seized 35 hats and a number of bags.
Prosecutor Gregor Mckinley told Southwark crown court the maximum penalty is seven years in jail.
Judge Michael Gledhill QC, who will sentence her on January 21, said: “We are talking about the category of offending that includes ivory from elephants.” on August 15 last year following a day-long drinking binge.
They had argued before Mccarron followed the victim to her flat where he beat her for several hours.
Judge Elizabeth Mccaffrey told Derry Crown Court: “She described you kicking, punching and choking her and biting her nose. She then described how you strangled her and she described fighting for breath.
“She said she truly believed you were going to kill her.
“She also said she was so badly beaten up she had to let you look after her. She was too scared to leave or tell anybody because she felt so stupid she had let you back into her life.”
