Bristol City, said: “I’m a young player and there are a lot of young players in the squad – and everyone wants to prove a point.

“This is my first season in the first team and I’m enjoying it.

“Frank Lampard has given us the opportunities that every young kid wants. He has helped me progress on and off the pitch.

“It’s massive for someone like him to put you in. He is a legend in the game.

“This season he gave me my debut and then I have gone on to play more.

“We have a massive squad and everyone is going to be needed. “Every game in the Championship is a tough game, no matter what.

“But the teams at the top end are obviously a bit more of a challenge. We have to rise to that.”

Although Bogle did not make any major errors on Saturday, his more experienced captain, Richard Keogh, was guilty of the blunder that gifted City the lead.

Ireland international Keogh has experience with nine different clubs but headed the ball towards Jamie Paterson, who scored. Bogle said: “Everyone makes mistakes and you just have to get on with it. He didn’t mean to make it.”

Derby managed to grab a point though, as striker Martyn Waghorn – back in the team – produced a classy finish from Mason Mount’s cross.

Lampard started with forward Jack Marriott (left) on the bench, but the Derby boss is rotating with the busy schedule in mind.

There were some groans around as Derby failed to find a winner, but mid-table City battled hard and deserved their draw.

The Robins took their unbeaten run to five games – which has come straight after a four-match losing streak.

Boss Lee Johnson praised midfielder Marlon Pack, saying: “Harry Wilson and Mason Mount are class acts, and when Marlon got booked it was a bit of a worry.

“Speed is probably not his main attribute. But he handled it very well.”
