END THE YEAR IN STYLE

-

It’s highly likely that by now, everybody’s sick of the sight of booze, food, family and the bloated, strange-looking person staring back at you in the mirror. But just on the off-chance you’re not as half dead as we look and feel, here’s our lovingly compiled round up of a couple more parties in which to fill your boots this weekend, followed by our picks of where to see out the old, welcome in the new and bust out Auld Lang Sang on Monday night.

We’ll start with tomorrow night’s Breezeblock party at The Bot, of all places. The latest in a series of seriously top bookings is Blawan who headlines this party alongside Dublin’s Tommy Holohan. Over the past few years few producers have caused as much commotion as Blawan. His label association – Hessle Audio, R&S, Clone Basement Series, Hinge Finger speaks volumes. Last remaining tickets are available now.

Fast forward 48 hours to Monday’s NYE celebrations and Thompsons in Belfast wrap up 2018 with a party featuring residents Ryan Dornan, Mark Blair & Tommy Mccoy dropping their favourite tracks of the year in the club whilst Ubblahkan take care of business on the terrace.

AVA have a full takeover coming to the The Palm House with their signature lights, production and some surprise midnight guests to create another unmissable night after 3 years of sold out NYE shows. Joining the AVA crew to close out 2018 is a cracking local lineup of Cromby, Bobby Analog, Mount Palomar (Live), Marion Hawkes, Inside Moves, High Hoops and Venus Dupree. Tickets start from £8.

DSNT really made 2018 a one to remember, their peerless production levels setting a new standard for local parties. On Monday, they’re throwing a massive BYOB blow out at the South 13 complex (B&Q on Boucher) with the usual Lumen style, full-on madness. Featuring Myler B2B Manni Dee, D Carbone, Jasmine and DSNT residents Crock, Dallas, Nez and Blark who boast about 150 years DJ experience between them all. They play across 3 stages and final remaining tickets are available from Eventbrite.

Bringing in the new year with Twitch at The Speakeasy, Lisburn Rd will be the return of one of the Hessle Audio label bosses, Pangaea. A regular face at Twitch, Pangaea’s style of no nonsense dancefloor-focused techno has made him a firm favourite. There are only a few £12 tickets left for this one.

The Night Institute is back at The Art Department for another two room affair. Timmy & Jordan hold the fort in the club as usual with room 2 serving as an opportunity to showcase some fresh new local faces in the shape of Nick Kearney, Euan Mcbride, Chris & Sam Pyper. Access All Areas tickets are £8 and available from skiddle.

And finally the Daddy of them all, Shine, will host the mighty Alan Fitzpatrick who brings his We Are The Brave party back to Belfast. Final remaining £27.50 tickets are available from shine. net.

Whatever you do, have a brilliant one. Wishing you big love and best wishes for 2019 from us pair!
