Deployed times in days reports of team of heroes missing people

Dementia patients ‘acting odd’ close to a bridge

Tuesday, December 18

Teams deployed at 10.30am to the Ards Peninsula to take part in a multiagenc­y search for a person missing since the previous evening. They were stood down in the late evening.

Wednesday, December 19

An SAR boat was launched and foot and vehicle teams deployed in Coleraine following reports of a person acting strangely on the main road bridge over the River Bann. Volunteers stood down at 2am.

Thursday, December 20

Volunteers returned to the Ards Peninsula in late evening to carry out searches for the person missing since December 17. With nothing untoward found they were stood down at 11pm.

Friday, December 21

Sonar team deployed to the Ards Peninsula shortly after 10am to continue in the multi-agency search for a person missing since December 17. A body was located believed to be that of the missing person.

Saturday, December 22

Volunteers deployed to the Bushmills area at 7pm to search for an elderly person with dementia. They were located safe by police helicopter and brought to hospital.

Teams deployed to the Belfast area in late afternoon to search for a missing person who was located safe.

Tuesday, December 25

Teams deployed to the Limavady area to search for a high-risk missing person who was located safe.

Wednesday, December 26

Teams deployed to Enniskille­n area in late afternoon to search for a missing person who was located safe.

Thursday, December 27

The first incident commences just after midnight in central Belfast followed by a further two incidents.

At 10.15am volunteers deployed to the East Belfast area to search for a person missing since the previous evening. Teams stood down at 2pm when the person was located safe.

Teams deployed at 8.30pm to search for an elderly person suffering with dementia who was located safe.

Friday, December 28

At 2am volunteers are deployed to the Craigavon area to search for a missing person who is brought to hospital.

At 11.45am teams head to Garvagh to search for an OAP with dementia. A body found is believed to be that of the missing person.

At 8.15pm volunteers deployed to East Belfast to search for another missing person who was located safe. At 10pm volunteers deployed to North Belfast area and the missing person was located safe by a CRS team.

At the same time volunteers were deployed to a multi-agency incident at the River Lagan in Belfast where a person intended to enter the river. The person was brought to safety.

Saturday, December 29

Volunteers responded to reports of a person missing in the Antrim area who was located.

Monday, December 31

Police thank the Community Rescue Service for their assistance after a man who was missing was located.
