teams know each other so well, of course, and their meeting offers both a realistic shot at making the sixth round of the biggest knockout competition in the land.

They have met twice already this season – the Whites opening the campaign with a thrilling 4-3 away win in the Betmclean League Cup at the start of August before a tight 1-1 draw at New Grosvenor in the league in November.

And Mcilwaine (below) fully expects another fag-paperbetween-them kind of afternoon off the Malone Road this weekend.

He added: “We set ourselves certain targets at the start of each season and getting to the fifth round of the Irish Cup is one of them. We’ve had to win three difficult games to get here so we’ve done well.

“Queen’s will be thinking the exact same, of course.

“Peter has done a great job at Queen’s and the games between ourselves are always very tight.

“They’re going well, top of the league, so won’t want a defeat to rock the boat.

“From our perspective, a win against Queen’s and a couple of league wins would mean we’re having a brilliant season.

“Lose and then lose in the league and we’re in for a bit of a struggle so we have a massive January in store and it starts on Saturday.”
