It ‘Raines and pours for Reds..

COLERAINE thumped Cliftonvil­le to consign the Reds to their fourth straight loss in the league.

Two goals in two minutes from Eoin Bradley and Stephen Lowry had the Bannmen two up at the break.

Liam Bagnell pulled it back to 2-1 on 69 minutes before Aaron Canning and James Mclaughlin pounced for the home side.

Elsewhere, Glentoran are now on the longest ever winless run in the club’s history after tumbling to a 4-2 defeat to Dungannon Swifts at The Oval.

Ronnie Mcfall’s men have gone 10 league games without a victory.

Daniel Hughes bagged a brace while Mark Patton and Paul Mcelroy were also on target as the Swifts recorded their first away league win of the season.

Steven Gordon had fired the Glens into a 41st minute lead. John Herron scored a late consolatio­n.

Meanwhile, Philip Donnelly bagged a hat-trick as Warrenpoin­t Town shocked Glenavon 3-1 at Mourneview Park.

Josh Daniels was on target for the Lurgan Blues, who have fallen out of the title race after taking three points from four games over the festive period.

Institute stretched their unbeaten run to six games with a 2-1 win at Newry City.

In-form striker Michael Mccrudden pounced for two first-half goals – the second a penalty.

Newry’s Dale Montgomery also netted from the penalty spot.
