Kildare v Wicklow, Newbridge KILMACUD CROKES forward Shane Horan has completed an inter-county transfer to Offaly.
Horan (left) was on the side that won last year’s Dublin SFC and featured throughout the campaign, right up to last month’s Leinster club final defeat to Mullinalaghta.
The 27-year-old can declare for Offaly but continue to play with Crokes due to both of his parents hailing from the midlands county.
Horan was ineligible to play for Offaly prior to January 1 but might see action in tomorrow’s O’byrne Cup tie with Carlow having trained with the panel for the first time on Wednesday night.
The acquisition of the hard-running wing-forward is a boost for Offaly manager John Maughan, who bemoaned the fact that a number of key players had turned down call ups.
