Saudi woman fears for life if sent home

A SAUDI teenager being detained at an airport fears her family will kill her if she is returned home.

Rahaf Mohammed al-qunun, 18, who has renounced Islam, fled from relatives last week.

She was detained in Bangkok while waiting to fly to Australia and claim asylum. She is due to be sent home today.

Rahaf, who claims her family was violent to her, said: “I’m sure 100% they will kill me.”

An official said a Saudi woman seeking asylum had been denied entry to Thailand and was being held at the airport.

Human Rights Watch Asia said: “Rahaf openly says her father will kill her. What is so hard for UN agencies to understand?” A TODDLER was last night found safe and well after the car she was sitting in was snatched by a thief.

Maria Tudorica, 17 months, was in the passenger side of the black Audi Quattro when a man posing as a potential buyer jumped in and drove off yesterday.

The vehicle was found abandoned nearby and the youngster was missing for four hours as police, family and friends franticall­y combed the streets.

Her distraught father David said during the search that he was “living every parent’s worst nightmare”.

Maria, who is from a Romanian family, was eventually found wandering around, cold and frightened but unharmed.

David said last night: “We are extremely relieved that she has been found. She has a very big family, grandparen­ts, cousins, aunts and uncles, so everyone is happy that she is back. I am
