FOURCE IS WITH UNITED

- BY DAVID MCDONNELL

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has warned Chelsea Manchester United are ready to step up their push for a top-four place.

Solskjaer made it five wins in his first five games – matching legendary former

United boss Sir Matt Busby – with Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup victory over Reading.

But United, who jetted off to Dubai for a warmweather training camp after the game, face their biggest test under Solskjaer on Sunday when they go to Tottenham.

The Reds were 11 points off fourth spot when Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho (above), but four straight league wins have cut that gap to six and they are now hot on Chelsea’s heels in the race for the Champions League.

Solskjaer said: “The players are getting confidence and momentum. It’s about keeping it up and let’s see where it takes us. We’re always good towards the end of the season, anyway.

“I’m not going to say top four is our target, because my target is the next game, but my target is also a certain way of playing, which will get us to where we belong in the end.”

Tottenham beat United 3-0 at Old Trafford earlier this season, but Solskjaer said revenge will not be the motivation.

“I don’t think you look at it as revenge,” he added. “We look at the team unit and how we play against them.”
