Mind your language, Ramsey!

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

JOHN TOSHACK is urging Aaron Ramsey to avoid Gareth Bale’s mistake and learn the language at his new club.

The Arsenal midfielder is set to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus after entering the final six months of his deal.

Ramsey’s Wales teammate Bale moved to Real Madrid in 2013, but has never conquered Spanish.

And former Wales and Real Madrid manager Toshack, who has coached all over Europe, said: “I would recommend to everyone, footballers or not, to go and see the world. To learn about new cultures. For me, as a coach, it was a way of life.

“I can assure you that for British players it is not easy to move. Aaron in Turin must not make the same mistake as Bale at Madrid – the local language should be learned immediately.”

And Toshack said

Ramsey would also benefit from playing with Cristiano Ronaldo in Serie A. “It is a chance to grow and get better,” he added.

“It is a bit of luck for a very unlucky boy. I remember when he was injured against Stoke in 2010. I was expecting him in the national team and I was stunned watching him on TV.

“He needed nine months to come back, but this forged his character. He grew up a bit at the time and now, at 28 years old and at the top of the game, he is ready to explode.

“Nobody can doubt his talent. Juventus want him not only because he is free.

“It will better to get him for next season rather than buy him now. Whatever happens, for the Welsh it will be a source of great pride if he goes to the team of the great John Charles.”

Last year we played Tottenham and ran them close but at the end of it all we just got lots of pats on the back and the feeling that we’d wasted our one big opportunity.”Newport led from the 10th minute, only to be pegged back eight minutes from time. But Amond struck the winner three minutes later and said: “I can’t wait for the draw.“If I had my choice it would be Manchester United away.”Amond also revealed that he wasn’t nervous when he shaped up for the dramatic spot-kick because he had taken loads of penalties against Leicester keeper Danny Ward before. He added: “I used to play with Wardy at Morecambe so I was relaxed about it.
