FORK IN ROAD FOR ORCHARD

- Armagh Donegal BY ORLA BANNON

AIDAN FORKER believes Armagh are “a team on the up” and has backed returning hit-men Jamie Clarke and Stefan Campbell to get better and better.

The dynamic duo opted out last year but have sparkled during the Mckenna Cup and will lead the attack when Kieran Mcgeeney’s side take on Donegal in tomorrow’s semi-final.

Forker said: “Soupy (Campbell) and Jamie (below) are working really hard, you can see their quality up front and the way they move and create space for themselves”.

“They are very clinical.

“We are delighted with how they’re shaping up, and they’re only going to get better because they’re getting used to that standard again.”

Campbell racked up

0-8 against Antrim and after a slow start, the pair impressed up front in the midweek win over All-ireland semi-finalists Monaghan.

Forker also got forward to kick two crucial points in a pivotal spell after half Clare v Cork, Miltown-malbay O’byrne Cup semi-finals Westmeath v Longford, The Downs

Dublin v Meath, Parnell Park, 7pm

Derry v Tyrone, Omagh

Armagh v Donegal, Athletic Grnds

Louth v DCU-ST Patricks, Louth time to help Armagh kick on and take their biggest scalp in a while. The big games keep coming with Donegal next up. “We’ll be meeting them again (in Division Two) so we’ll be sussing each other out I’m sure.

“I’m not sure what kind of team they’ll put out.

“The Mckenna Cup produces a good standard and teams generally want to go on and win when at the semi-final stage. Donegal are one of the top dogs, like Monaghan, so it’s another step up again.”
