ON CLOUD 9 MOM Paisley bags a hat-trick as Whites come from goal down to hit nine
MATTHEW Paisley hit a hat-trick to help Lisburn Distillery Youth come back from losing an early goal to win 9-2 against Moneyslane in the under-15 section of the Daily Mirror Lisburn Junior Invitational League.
Slane flattered to deceive when Sam Bailie ran on to a through ball to slip home the opening goal and, although they later reduced the deficit to 3-2, Distillery took a 4-2 lead at the interval.
Callum Mccomb started the Whites revival with their opening goal when he slid home a cross into the area and Ethan Rodgers made it 2-1 when he was on hand to finish a good cross from the left.
Paisley then got in on the act, beating a couple of players before finishing with a right foot shot at the back post to make it 3-1.
But Kyle Dodds put Moneyslane back in the game from a free-kick.
Indeed, Slane had two chances to get back into the game before half-time with the closest when Andrew Williams saved a Bailie penalty.
Jamie Berry scored the goal of the game, taking on a couple of defenders before finishing in style and setting the Whites back on track at 4-2.
Paisley added the fifth from a free-kick and, after Owen Brady (circled) made it six, Paisley completed his hat-trick with a shot from the edge of the area into the top corner of the net.
Luke Mckenzie added an eighth goal with a simple tap-in and Lennon Mcilroy completed the scoring when he collected a ball over the top of the defenders from Berry to fiñish the scoring.
The father and son management team at Distillery were pleased with the second half performance, but Ernie and Colin Wilson say they need to press the ball and if they do results will improve.
They named Paisley as man of the match.
Moneyslane have a different problem as Gary Hanna explained there is a shortage of players. He added that they need a striker.
