Liam nephew dies 5yrs after phonebox plunge

Heartache for star still mourning wife Natasha

LIAM Neeson is suffering fresh family tragedy after his nephew died five years after falling 20ft off a telephone box into a subway.

Musician Ronan Sexton, 35, suffered head injuries in the plunge during a prank on a night out with friends in Brighton in 2014.

His death comes 10 years after Liam lost actress wife Natasha Richardson following a skiing accident.

Love Actually actor Neeson, 66, is said to be devastated by the loss of Ronan, who died with his family at his side in Cushendall, Co Antrim.

Ronan, who had been living in Worthing, West Sussex, was treated in a local hospital after the fall and later transferred to Hurstwood Park neurological centre in Haywards Heath.

Police said at the time: “Just after 4am on Sunday a man climbed on top of a telephone kiosk outside Brighton Pier when he fell 20ft to the ground, sustaining a serious head injury.”

Ronan’s family thanked the public for their support, adding: “Ronan is receiving wonderful treatment from the dedicated staff at Hurstwood Park.”

Ballymena-born Liam told in 2017 how he was still struggling to process the loss of The Parent Trap star Natasha, his wife of 15 years.

She died at the age of 45 in hospital in New York two days after suffering a fall during a ski lesson in Quebec, Canada, in March 2009.

Bereaved Liam said: “It hits you. It’s like a wave... the Earth isn’t stable any more. I still get it sometimes.”
