Murdered in knife attack over a ciggie

A KNIFEMAN fatally slashed an off-licence customer’s neck for refusing him a cigarette.

The attack on the man with a six-inch blade lasted 20 seconds.

The victim, said to be in his 30s, died at the scene just after 3am yesterday.

Assistant manager Muhammad Khan, whose cousin was working in the shop, said: “The guy with the knife asked the other for free cigarettes. They had an argument and he took out a knife. Everyone tried to stop him.”

The fatal attack in East Dulwich, South London, came on a night of violence in the capital.

In separate incidents in West London a teenager was shot and another stabbed. In North West London a 23-year-old was stabbed and hospitalised.
