‘Laser copter man’ detained

A MAN has been arrested after a laser was shone at a police helicopter assisting a drugs search.

The incident happened in Lurgan, Co Armagh, on Saturday night.

The PSNI said in a statement: “Imagine for a second what would happen if a helicopter full of aviation fuel lost control and came down on a residential housing estate.

“Suffice to say we left with him in cuffs for endangering an aircraft and disorderly behaviour.”
