DAVID SHERRY broke Cushendall hearts on Saturday with a winner deep in injury-time at Parnell Park.

Donal Mcnaughton still could have equalised for Cushendall and forced extra-time but went for goal with time almost up instead of an easy point and saw his shot blocked.

Cushendall boss Eamon Gillan said: “If it had gone into the back of the net he’d have been our hero, that’s the way it works in this game – you can be a villain or a hero.

He’s had a great year overall.

“To be honest, I thought we were going to win it.”
