Fire chiefs call for tighter law
FIRE chiefs are calling for a law to force all new blocks of flats, no matter how high, to have sprinklers to avoid another Grenfell disaster.
A Government consultation on building rules, called after the Grenfell fire which kiled 72, ends in March.
The London Fire Brigade said developers are dodging installing them in low-rises.
LFB chief, Dany Cotton, said: “They’re not a luxury.”
