PSNI hunt four suspects over Ogle’s killing
POLICE are hunting at least four suspects over the brutal killing of dad Ian Ogle.
The 45-year-old was stabbed 11 times and suffered a fractured skull before “being left to die on the street” on January 27.
A number of those responsible are believed to have fled the country shortly after the attack near his home in East Belfast.
Det Chief Insp Peter Mckenna is now appealing to those men to “do the right thing” and hand themselves in. He said: “Ian was attacked by a gang of at least five men and I believe some people involved in the murder have fled the jurisdiction.
“I would appeal to them to do the right thing and come forward to police.
“Ian, who was a husband and a father of two, had his skull fractured and was stabbed 11 times in the back before being left to die on the street.
“I would say to those responsible that what happened to Ian had no justification whatsoever and it’s time to take responsibility for your actions. I would also appeal to anyone who has information about those involved in the attack on Ian to please contact the investigation team on 101.”
Jonathan Brown, 33, of Mcarthur Court, Belfast, appeared before magistrates on Friday accused of Mr Ogle’s murder.
He was arrested at Heathrow Airport last Wednesday before being returned to Northern Ireland.
He did not seek bail and was remanded in custody to appear by video link on March 8.
