ENGLAND’S run to the World Cup semi-finals in Russia helped push beer sales to a 45-year high.
The British Beer and Pub Association said demand rose 2.6% year-onyear but the summer boosted trade by 4.4%.
BBPA chief Brigid Simmonds said: “A significant amount of the growth in 2018 can be attributed to the England team’s performance at the World Cup and the good weather over the summer months.”
