Just three points separate the two teams in second and third, and with St Matthews boasting a game in hand over Tullymore, the final promotion place could be decided by their two head-to-heads in the run-in.

“It looks like it’s Beann Mhadaghain’s to lose, I can’t see them dropping many points,” said Shields. “So it looks pretty much between us and Tullymore for second. We’ve maybe conceded a few more than we would have liked this year.

“A lot more than this time last season because our clean sheets were super last season, but we’re scoring plenty of goals which is the main thing.”

In the other Cochrane Corry Cup fourth round tie to be be played at the weekend, Ford host Donaghadee.
