Singer gets engaged to boyfriend on hols
WESTLIFE star Markus Feehily has revealed he is engaged to his boyfriend of six years.
The My Love singer, who is currently planning a comeback tour with the chart-topping group, announced the happy news yesterday morning on social media.
While he chose not to reveal the identity of his fiance, the singer told fans the happy news while on a romantic holiday in the Maldives.
Sharing an image of his hand with a silver wedding band on, alongside two glasses of wine, Feehily wrote: “2019 has been so amazing to me so far and it’s only getting started!
“I wanted to be the first to say it... #engaged.” Alongside the first picture, the 38-year-old also shared a clip of his idyllic beach surroundings and a sweet shot of him and his husband-to-be as they happily strolled along the shore.
Fans were quick to post their delight at the news with one writing: “Wow that’s so amazing!!! Congratulations @markusmoments load of love to come.”
Another added: “You deserve the world. Congratulations to you both”.
And a third posted: “Congratulations to you both. I could not be happier for you both than I am right now!!!
“What an amazing place to get engaged. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world! Xxx”
Feehily opened up about his relationship to RSVP Live last year.
He said his boyfriend is very private and that was their reason for keeping the romance away from the public eye.
Feehily added: “I am going out with an Irish guy now, so it suits us both to be back in Ireland and our families are close by. We are together four years now, so it has been quite a while and I am very happy.
“He is not quiet, believe me, he is far from quiet, but he has no experience whatsoever in the music industry and he is quite shy about coming to the red carpet.
“A lot of people ask me his name and it is not that I don’t say his name, it is his thing to say and if he wants to be in a magazine then that’s his choice.”
The singer was previously engaged to his boyfriend of seven years Kevin Mcdaid but they broke up within months of Westlife splitting up in 2011.
The pair went on a romantic holiday to the Maldives posting lots of envious photos.
They’ll feel like they’re Flying Without Wings for a while no doubt.
