BALLYCASTL­E STORM TO A JUNIOR SHIELD SEMI

BALLYCASTL­E UNITED have booked a Co Antrim Junior Shield semi-final slot.

Queen’s Grads didn’t like to be beside the seaside on Saturday as the hosts ran out 2-0 winners.

They’re joined in the last four by Harryville Homers after they won 3-1 at Woodlands thanks to goals by Darren Campbell, Chris Dowie and Robbie Sutherland.

Willowbank eased past Finaghy by three clear goals, while St Mary’s were beaten 3-2 away at Tullymore Swifts.

In the a 6-0 win over Wakehurst helped Bangor close the gap at the top of the standings.

The Seasiders trail Glebe by nine points with four games in hand after doubles by Scott Mcarthur and Ben Arthurs and strikes by Niall Atkinson and Jack Mallin.

Goals by Philpott, Harbinson and Shannon handed Donegal Celtic the points at home against Dunloy while Ballynure OB and Ballymoney United drew 0-0 at Mossley and Cookstown RBL beat Desertmart­in 1-0.

Strathroy Harps were beaten again, Strule United winning 2-0, while Enniskille­n Rangers won 3-1 at Mountjoy, Irvinestow­n thrashed Beragh and Tummery won at Enniskille­n Town United.

Magheravee­ly secured promotion to Division One with a 3-3 draw at home against Omagh Hospitals, while Glebe United beat Enniskille­n Athletic 4-3.

Celebratio­n champagne corks were also popping for Lisnarick in Division Three who got over the line in style by beating Enniskille­n Rovers 7-2 with hat-tricks for both Peter Law and Niall Mcmenamin.

Mountfield also hit seven in beating Fivemileto­wn’s second string while Ardstraw won at home against Orchard Farm.

In the there were Division One victories for Ahoghill Thistle and Michelin.

Connor, FC Antrim and Riverdale booked their places in the George Mcauley Cup semi-finals while Southside Rangers and All Saints OB moved through to round two of the Ace Cup.

There were 4-0 Division Two victories for FC Moylena and Seven Towers while Cullybacky Blues took a strong hold on their Sammy Moore Cup semi-final with a 4-1 win over Star United in the first leg.
