Lotto £152m is split... 49 ways

- BY PAT FLANAGAN

AN Irish syndicate who scooped a £152million Lotto fortune have decided to split it 49 ways.

The generosity of the nine members means their children, grandkids and extended family could each pocket around £3million.

The Rogers, originally from the Naul, North Co Dublin, gathered last night in a pub in Duleek, Co Meath, to celebrate their Euromillions windfall – the largest sum ever won in Ireland. It is under- stood the family will make an announcement today.

A friend told the Daily Mirror last night: “It’s very generous of them but they decided with such a massive sum of money it was the right thing to do.

“As it stood each member of the syndicate would have got close to £20million each, which they thought was far too much for one person, so they decided to spread it around.

“Even as it stands everybody will now get over £3million, which is as much as an ordinary Irish Lotto jackpot, so I think there’s going to be a lot of happy people today.”

It is understood one member of the family is going to release a statement on behalf of the syndicate this afternoon.

The winners are spread across the Meath and North Dublin area, living in the Naul, Ashbourne, Bellewstown and Duleek.

The Rogers were able to pick up their cash from yesterday after the money poured into Lotto HQ in Dublin.
