TRASH TALKING TYSON: BRING ON THE BINMAN

- BY DAVID ANDERSON @Mirroranderson

TYSON FURY claims he is prepared to fight his “binman” if Deontay Wilder continues to snub him.

Fury says WBC heavyweight champ Wilder is ignoring his offer to negotiate a rematch after their blockbuster in December ended in a controversial draw.

He wants to keep busy after being out of the ring for two and-a-half years as he battled depression.

Fury (above, with Wilder after their first clash) claims training wards off his demons and he said: “I’ll just fight anybody, the local binman, anyone as long as I can keep active and keep busy. It’s not the boxing that drives me, it’s the training.

“When the boxing’s done, I will always continue to train and that will keep me well, mentally and physically. It took me 20 years to figure that out.”

Fury, 30, has accused Wilder of being “bitter” because he won’t agree to a rematch. The unbeaten Traveller (below, catching Wilder) suspects the American is sore because most people felt he lost.

“I did text him just after Christmas to say let’s get the fight arranged,” said the former WBA, WBO and IBF king.

“Didn’t get a reply – usually not a good sign! Maybe he’s a little bit bitter.” Fury says he does not know what is happening in the talks and his broadcasting deal with ESPN has complicated negotiations because

Wilder fights on the rival Showtime network in the United States.

“I’m not too sure,” he said in an interview in the April edition of British GQ magazine. “But I’ve done everything I had to do.

“I won the fight quite clearly, 10 rounds to two.

“If you’re not going to win on that margin, then it’s highly impossible that you’re going to win overseas.

“Maybe if I win 12 out of 12, I might get another draw. Who knows? Wilder needs to improve – drastically.”

Fury insists his first fight with Wilder was “fun” even though he was put down twice.

His second recovery after being flattened in the 12th round was miraculous, yet Fury said dismissively: “If that’s hell, it’s not a very scary place.

“Yeah, he’s the hardest puncher in the world, but you don’t really feel the punches when you’re in a boxing fight.

“Getting hit is part of the job.”
