AT the final whistle in Paris on Wednesday, following their historic 3-1 win over PSG, Manchester United had four academy players on the pitch. Here is a closer look at the four United starlets and the path that has led them to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team...

MARCUS RASHFORD Age: 21

Position: Striker Appearance­s: 159

THE poster-boy for the academy, Rashford clinched United’s Paris win with a 94th-minute penalty. Has flourished since marking his Reds debut with two goals in a Europa League tie in February 2016. Already a key man for United and England, he has taken his game to another level since Solskjaer’s appointmen­t.

SCOTT MCTOMINAY

Age: 22

Position: Midfielder Appearance­s: 40

MCTOMINAY was handed his debut by Jose Mourinho away to Arsenal in May 2017, and became a regular member of the first-team squad the following season. The Scotland midfielder excelled in Paris, filling the void left by injured duo Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.

TAHITH CHONG Age: 19

Position: Winger Appearance­s: 3

THE right-winger, who came on for the final 10 minutes against PSG, is one of the most highly-rated youngsters at United, and made his debut in their 2-0 FA Cup win at home to Reading in January. Named United’s Young Player of the Year in 2018, he has been a regular trainer with the first-team squad this season.

MASON GREENWOOD Age: 17

Position: Striker Appearance­s: 1

UNITED have huge hopes for this forward. The 17-year-old has been in fine form, scoring 22 goals in 22 games at youth level. He came on in the 87th minute in Paris for his debut. ACADEMY products James Garner and Angel Gomes were unused subs in Paris, while Brandon Williams made the trip but not the 18-man squad.
