ALL CHANGE AS PSG ARE ROCKED BY ‘HUMILIATION’

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN promised to make decisions with “a cool head” after the latest disaster in their recurring European nightmare.

Two years after PSG blew a 4-0 lead at Barcelona, French sports daily L’equipe’s front-page headline claimed the Manchester United humiliation (felt by Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani above) was “Even worse”.

The futures of Neymar, Gianluigi Buffon, coach Thomas Tuchel and even Qatari president Nasser al-khelaifi are all now in doubt.

Despite lavishing £1billion since the Qatari takeover in 2011, PSG have yet to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

They did better last season when they won the domestic treble under Unai Emery and went out in the round of 16 to eventual champions Real Madrid.

And the Ligue 1 champions went further in the Champions League – four consecutive quarter-finals – before the arrival of Neymar (above).

There is a power struggle at the top of the club between Tuchel and sporting director Antero Henrique, while the loss of Champions League income will force summer sales.

Real Madrid will also test the French club’s determination to keep Neymar.

Al-khelaifi admitted he could not “understand” the 3-1 home defeat, adding: “It is not because we have lost a match that we are going to act now.

“We really want to take decisions with a cool head. It is not the moment to speak about that. We want to analyse calmly what we have done and what the coach wants, too.”

Ex-west Ham star and now Marseille captain Dimitri Payet joined the mockery of PSG by posting “a jamais les premiers” (forever the first) as Marseille remain the only French club to win the Champions League.
