WATSON: WE WILL ATTACK DRAGONS FROM START
CHRIS THORMAN has lifted the lid on the personal anguish that forced him out of the sport.
The former Huddersfield and England stand-off (above) officially left his job as the Giants assistant coach in December on a mutual basis, with a statement from the club saying he had made a “very difficult decision”.
But he has now revealed that domestic problems were the reason for leaving, which have led to him currently unable to work in rugby league.
In an Instagram post, Thorman wrote: “I have been struggling for a while now.
“My life got tipped upside down at the end of September when I was forced to leave my job with @giantsrl_official. This and sank the eagle putt.
His compatriot
Graeme Mcdowell struggled to recreate the spark that left him four under after day one and he was two over for the day late last night.
A disastrous triple bogey on the 11th cost his playing partner Shane Lowry and he was battling to avoid the cut at three over through 14 on a punishing course.
There were no such struggles for Fleetwood however, as two eagles propelled him to the top alongside Bradley, four clear of the field.
“I’ve done a lot of good things over the last two, three years,” said Fleetwood.
“I think (what’s) pretty clear in our minds that the next logical step (would be) to win in America or on the PGA Tour and then see where we go from there.”
