GO FOR IT!

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

Liverpool v Burnley, Tomorrow, 12pm JURGEN KLOPP rallied his troops in their title battle with Manchester City, roaring: “Be strong, be positive, be a threat – let’s go for it!”

Liverpool are a point behind City after letting slip a seven-point lead and their

bottle has been questioned. But Klopp is adamant his team will finish strongly as they enter the final stretch, and even said they can win their final nine games.

“We are in the position we deserve to be in, a position not many people expected us to be in with nine games to go,” he said.

“So let’s go for it, let’s be positive, let’s be a threat – and then we will see. If there is a chance for us to win all our games and get as many points as possible, then we will be there.”

Klopp has been criticised in recent weeks after a run of five draws in their last seven matches, including a 0-0 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich, and there have been suggestions the manager hasn’t been bold enough to convert those draws into vital wins. Yet Klopp insists the Reds have enough firepower to win their remaining games.

Asked if they were ready to end the season strongly, he replied: “One hundred per cent. We’re creating much more than last season. In the last few games we didn’t score as often but 10 days ago we played against Watford and we were flying.”

Fit-again Dejan Lovren could start against Burnley tomorrow.
