good form. It’s the style he was coached in at Aberdeen and he feels it is tailored to his own strengths.
“In Scotland, playing reserve team football, they try and play football the right way because there is not really so much at stake,” explained O’sullivan.
“Then when I came back down south, it was a lot more competitive and very results-based.
“It didn’t matter how we played, as long as we won, whereas Stevie wants us to play football and it’s just a breath of fresh air, I really enjoy it. And especially as a centre-forward, there’s nothing worse than lumped long balls and trying to win headers and get flick-ons, so I really, really enjoy it.
“The way we play is very similar to the way I was taught over in Aberdeen.”
With nine goals to his name so far this season, O’sullivan has been the Point’s main source of goals.
And he’s confident he can add to that tally over the remainder of the campaign once he’s back from injury.
“I think I’ve had a good season, nine goals and a couple of assists as well,” said O’sullivan.
“I think I’ve played well. At the start of the season, you just want to get your first goal and then you build targets, so obviously double figures is the next target for me and I’m not too far off that.
“So it’s been a good season for me personally.
“I think I’ve played quite well, but that’s down to Stevie and Collie too because I can see myself improving as a player.”
